SEEDS and Service Learning

The Freshwater Heritage of Blacksburg

SEEDS engages students in studies that address local environmental issues, cultural issues, and sustainable development. VT Chapter of SEEDS students, the Service Learning Center at Virginia Tech and other area schools are encouraged to explore the roots of our community which are firmly planted around our freshwater resources.

In the New River Valley, SEEDS is part of a community planning and awareness effort surrounding the study of freshwater resources. SEEDS partners with the Virginia Water Center at VT, the VT Science Outreach Program , and the Town of Blacksburg to improve public awareness on the value of our freshwater recources.
