Freshwater Heritage of Blacksburg (CLICK HERE FOR SCHEDULE)

From September - May, SEEDS works with the VT Biological Sciences Outreach Program and the Town of Blacksburg History Museum offering field programs that explore our New River watershed environment and help kids appreciate the importance of participating as an active community citizen.

The Freshwater Heritage of Blacksburg project supports the initiative by connecting young people in the area with people interested in our area's main tributaries of the New and Roanoke Rivers. This program also supports the SEEDS mission by developing a sense of awareness, accountability and appreciation for our environment and our community.

This program has been supported through grants from the Educational Foundation of America the Cabell Brand Center, The Waterwheel Foundation, the Service Learning Center at Virginia Tech, and the Community foundation of the New River Valley.
