Here are some samples of SEEDS programs

Each category briefly describes two. . .one for "youngsters" then one for "oldsters".

One Hour Activities

  • Weird geography. Life on earth, picture the world with south as up
  • Hey, don't swat that "Mosquito"! There are flies and there are mosquitoes and then there are flies that look like mosquitoes. Collect critters. How are they important?

Two Hour Activities

  • Seeds and their Suitcases: Crazy ways that plant seeds travel.
  • How do Sticks and Stones Break my Bones? Learn about the human body. . . You really are what you eat!

Half Day Activities

  • Dunking Ducks: Watch the ducks with your own "underwater periscope".
  • "Waiter, there"s an Arthropod in my soup!" Biology of Clam Chowder & Fish and Chips. Learn about fisheries, agriculture as well as the Biology of clams, fish, cows, potatoes, and herbs.

All Day Activities

  • Hollow Hollerin': SEEDS takes you out to explore with some special visits in towns and on farms.
  • Ridge to Ridge: Discover the history and culture of our area with a day trip to places that you can go back to on your own; along the river & up the valley.

Continuing Activities

  • Rub-a-dub-dub, Make a River From Mud: Create a river from scratch. . .plan it, map it, make it, and watch it flow; a 10 week program.
  • WAFL - Water Air Food and Light; explore the basic needs of living things
