14th – SEEDS Info Booth in Squires

1st – 5th SEEDS Info Cards distributed in Dining Halls

3rd – SEEDS Info Booth in Squires – Haymarket Theatre 10AM – 2:30PM

        Organic Chocolate Sale pre-orders begin
16th- VT Engage Organization Fair 4PM-7PM on the Drillfield

20thStream Clean up 10AM - 2PM, Stroubles Creek – Meet at the Surge Building

22nd – 27th - VT Environmental Sustainability Week

24th – Sustainability Organization Showcase in Squires 9AM – 5PM

27th – Freshwater Heritage of Blacksburg Walk, Meet 12Noon at the Watershed open-house across from Kent Square on Draper Rd.

 
November

2nd –Band Fundraiser (Curious Strange at CHAMPS at 9PM)

3rd – Fall Hike (Kelly’s Knob – the closest part of the Appalachian Trail to Blacksburg)

*Note that the Kelly’s Knob trail starts with a sharp, uphill hike for about 10-15 minutes. It then levels off and is about 1.5-2 miles to the overlook.*

5th – 9th - VT SEEDS Organic Chocolate Sale

              Delivery of organic chocolate pre-orders

 
December

1st – VT SEEDS Movie Night (Baraka –starts at 9PM)

5th – The Big Event!  Geo-Cache Activity with VT-STEM

VT SEEDS Officers ’07- ’08

 

President:  Robert Jacks, rjacks@vt.edu  – Rob is a junior in the Pamplin College of Business here at VT.  His passion lies between business and the environment, and he hopes to bring a lot of success and enthusiasm to the organization this year.

 

Treasurer: Tracie Hundley - Tracie is a junior studying Animal & Poultry Science. She is a pre-vet student and has been and avid SEEDS volunteer and participant for three years.

 

Officer: Rishi Chopra - Rishi is a junior in the College of Science here at VT. He is
a biology and chemistry double major, who shows great interest in preserving
the environment.
Rishi has volunteered for SEEDS since his freshman year on our out-of-school field trips for kids and for our after-school tutoring program.

 

Officer: Lisa Hoag – Lisa is a sophmore double majoring in HNFE and
Biology as well as minoring in Medicine & Society. She has great
interest in preserving the environment and hopes to one day become an
Anesthesiologist.

  • VT SEEDS is working closely with the Environmental Coalition at VT to help promote the EC’s goal of being a true coalition of organizations working together. The Environmental Coalition
