For ages 11 - 15

 

Fee: $720.00 - financial aid available and one full fee waiver available

Group size: Nine kids, two teachers.

Trip leaders:     Dr. Mike Rosenzweig, Director Virginia Tech Science Outreach Program and co-founder of SEEDS, Ms. Anna Gianakos, Denver Co. Public School and SEEDS teacher since 2004.


 

Fee includes:

¥   nine  nights lodging

¥   three meals per day, drinks and snacks

¥   orientation and training for activities

¥   round-trip transportation

¥   field trips

July 1:

Depart Blacksburg 7:00AM SHARP

Rest stops in NC, SC, GA, and FL.

Arrive Central Florida  7:00PM

 

July 2:
AM Breakfast
Explore Wekiwa Springs State Park
Accompanied by Dr. Dave Jenkins (Ph.D. from Virginia Tech and Mike's old pal)
Dinner

July 3
AM Breakfast
Depart for Juno Beach
PM Arrive Juno Beach 3PM

Explore beach and dune ecosystem
Dinner

July 4

Dawn exploration for nesting/hatching sea turtles

AM Breakfast, depart for Key Largo

PM: Arrive Key Largo, explore the local environment

Dinner/Watch Fireworks!

 

July 5:
AM Breakfast: Depart for Grassy Key
Dolphin Research Center
PM: Depart for Key Largo
Reflect/relax/postcards, explore local environment

Snorkel at John Pennekamp State Park Reef

July 10:
Return To Blacksburg. Depart Orlando area at 8:00AM SHARP!

Arrive Blacksburg E.T.A 9:00 PM (we'll call by cell phone when we are one hour from Blacksburg).
